The Centre finishes over 6,000 pigs each year, and, Prairie Swine Centre (PSC) is a 300-sow farrow-to-finish swine research facility located just outside of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In addition to the standard production facilities, there is a surgery suite, metabolism crates, two environmental chambers on-site and a separate disease challenge facility located about 40 minutes from the cityPrairie Swine Centre College of Agriculture and

Typically, the grain particle size recommended for the nursery phase is 500 to 600 microns for mash diets and, approximately, 400 microns for pelleted diets. Grain particle sizes in meal diets greater than 600 microns will reduce the digestibility of nutrients and grain particle sizes smaller than 500 microns will decrease feed intake (4).Grain Particle Size for PIC Pigs The Pig Site
